SUMMARY:Bardo Teachings with Drupon Thinley Ningpo
DESCRIPTION:Our Beloved Drupon Thinley Ningpo \nPlease join us and our beloved teacher\, Drupon Thinley Ningpo\, for this special weekend of Bardo Teachings\, November 22nd and 23rd\, 2025 (10am-12pm + 2pm-5pm MST)\, preceded by an Amitabha empowerment on Friday\, November 21st (6:30pm-8:30pm MST). \nLINK TO ZOOM \nBardo Teaching Text [PDF] \nREGISTER for Bardo Teachings with Drupon Thinley Ningpo \nThe term\, Bardo\, commonly refers to the transitional or “intermediate states” that occur during the period between death and rebirth. The Bardo teachings help us to understand what happens when the mind separates from the body at the time of death\, where it goes\, what to expect\, and how to prepare for the transition. \nIn a broader sense\, Bardo also refers to 6 key transitional experiences\, moments when gaps appear\, not just in the afterlife\, but also in everyday life\, including the bardos of dreaming and meditation. \nDrupon Thinley Ningpo will explore these 6 Bardo states and why it’s crucial to understand them and the opportunities present in each for liberation from samsara and the cycle of suffering. \nLocation + Registration\nThe teachings will be held at Red Tree Meditation & Yoga Center in Tucson and simultaneously broadcast online via Zoom.  We strongly encourage you to attend in person. \nAll are welcome\, no previous experience necessary. \nThe suggested donation for each weekend day is $40\, or whatever amount you can donate to support this and future teachings in the Old Pueblo. Registration is not required\, and can be done on day of teachings\, but pre-registration helps us to estimate total attendance and plan accordingly:\nREGISTER for Bardo Teachings with Drupon Thinley Ningpo

SUMMARY:Lojong Teaching with Drupon Thinley Ningpo - August 9-11\, 2024
DESCRIPTION:Our Beloved Drupon Thinley Ningpo \nDrikung Namgyal Ling and Arizona Friends of Tibet welcome our beloved teacher\, Drupon Thinley Ningpo\, back to Tucson from August 9th\, 10th and 11th\, 2024. We begin on Friday evening with a public talk at 7pm. Then\, on Saturday and Sunday\, teaching will begin at 10am and end at 5pm PST\, with a break for lunch from 12-2pm. \nAugust 9th: 7pm-9pm PST\nAugust 10: 10am-5pm PST (lunch break: 12-2pm)\nAugust 11: 10am-5pm PST (lunch break: 12-2pm) \n \n\nLojong\, or mind training\, serves as an invaluable method for applying Buddhist practice in everyday life. It makes use of slogans or aphorisms as a powerful\, pithy\, and practical means of developing bodhichitta. It particularly emphasizes the practice of “exchanging oneself for others.” \nAs practitioners we learn the importance of accumulating merit and wisdom\, and nurturing love and compassion for all beings. During teachings or in the presence of our teachers and their living example\, these key ideas can become very clear and inspirational\, but after the teachings\, when we are on our own\, it’s easy to slip into old tendencies. \nLojong training counteracts the tendency to separate our “dharma” life from daily life so that we remember how to put the teachings into practice at all times\, especially when we encounter difficulties and suffering\, our own and others. \nInitially introduced by Atisha in the 10th century\, Lojong has taken many forms but one of the most famous texts\, commonly referred to as “Seven Point Mind Training”\, was composed by the 12th century master\, Chekawa Yeshe Dorje. \nDrupon Thinley Ningpo will guide us through this well-known text\, elucidating the deeper meaning and history of these classic Buddhist slogans\, and how they still apply to the modern age. \nPractice Text for Teaching:\nThe Seven Points of Mind Training \nTo Join Via Zoom:\nhttps://us06web.zoom.us/j/81782852263 \n\nLocation + Registration\nThe teachings will be held at Red Tree Meditation & Yoga Center in Tucson and simultaneously broadcast online via Zoom.  We strongly encourage you to attend in person. \nAll are welcome\, no previous experience necessary\, \nThe suggested donation for each day is $35\, or whatever amount you can donate to support this and future teachings in the Old Pueblo. Registration not required\, and can be done on day of teachings\, but pre-registration helps us to know approximately how many students will attend:\nRegister for Lojong Teachings \nExact times and the zoom link will be provided via email and on our website prior to the teaching. \nRed Tree Meditation & Yoga Center\n1234 E 16th St.\nTucson\, AZ 85719

SUMMARY:Green Tara Teachings\, Empowerment and more with Drupon Thinley Ningpo - April 22nd + 23rd
DESCRIPTION:Green Tara Teachings\, Empowerment and more \nWe’re pleased to announce  the return not only of in-person teachings but also of our beloved Drupon Thinley Ningpo to Tucson. He will teach the weekend of April 22nd and 23rd\, 2023.  Each day will start at 10am and end at 4pm PST\, with a break for lunch from 12-2pm. \nZOOM LINK TO JOIN THE TEACHING \nSaturday\, April 22nd\n10am-4pm PST (lunch break: 12-2) \n\nDrupon will lead the Green Tara Empowerment and corresponding practice instruction.  Green Tara is known as the mother of all Buddhas\, a protectress from maladies such as fear\, disease\, and war\, whose great compassion and enlightened activities work to end the suffering of all sentient beings. \nHe will then guide us through her brief practice sadhana. While only a few pages long\, it contains all of the core elements of deity practice and serves as a basis for understanding deity practice in general\,  Therefore this instruction offers a great opportunity to learn or to brush up on the fundamentals of Vajrayana Buddhist deity practice\, and how it leads to Buddhahood. \nSunday\, April 23rd\n10am-4pm PST (lunch break: 12-2)\n \n\nDrupon will offer heart teachings on the importance of establishing and maintaining a daily practice. This instruction will be based on verse that Drupon himself composed\, Musings of a Practitioner\, that calls out key aspects of the path to enlightenment such as virtuous conduct\, karmic infallibility\, and pure view. \nLocation\nThe teachings will be held at Red Tree Meditation & Yoga Center in Tucson and simultaneously broadcast online via Zoom.  Despite the short notice\, we strongly encourage you to attend\, since it has been 3.5 years since our last in-person teaching event. \nAll are welcome and the teachings will be free of charge\, however please donate what you can to support this and future teachings in the Old Pueblo. \nExact times and zoom links will be provided via email and on our website prior to the teaching. \nRed Tree Meditation & Yoga Center\n1234 E 16th St.\nTucson\, AZ 85719 \nTexts for Event \n\nGreen Tara Daily Practice Sadhana\nMusings of a Practitioner\n\n  \n
