SUMMARY:White Tara Practice
DESCRIPTION:Tara Embodies the female wisdom activity of the mind. She is often called the mother of all the Buddhas\nHis Eminence Garchen Rinpoche has taught extensively on the benefits of White Tara practice. White Tara offers peace\, prosperity\, health and long life through her enlightened activities. She is depicted with a female body that is the brilliant white of a thousand autumn moons. Her third eye in her forehead symbolizes her vision of the unity of ultimate reality while she simultaneously sees the relative and dualistic world with her other two eyes. Her hands and feet also have eyes\, showing that all her actions are governed by her ultimate wisdom and compassion. She is the protective\, helpful and comforting mother who shows limitless kindness\, generosity and protection towards those who are tossed in the ocean of suffering.\n\nIf we recite her mantra and make a connection to her\, we draw closer to developing her enlightened qualities in ourselves.\n\nBring your bells and damarus!\n1st & 3rd Wednesdays\, Every Month \nAda Pierce McCormick BuildingUniversity of Arizona Campus1401 East First Street\nTucson\, Arizona 85719(Click here for a map) \nFor More Information: Zehra Conner: 299-1083

SUMMARY:Shitro Empowerment\, Lung & Teaching
DESCRIPTION:Shitro translates as peaceful and wrathful deities and is associated with purification of the skandhas or aggregates of form\, perception\, feeling\, mental formations and consciousness. At the moment of our death these aggregates dissolve into their pure and impure qualities\, and may be experienced as dream-like imagery or visions. \nIn the practice of Shitro\, we learn to recognize this\, so that as we transmigrate through the intermediate state after death\, weíre not propelled by karmic propensities into lower rebirths. Rather\, weíre able to abide in the Nature of Mind. This journey of compounded and uncompounded awareness is the central theme in the Prayer of Kungtuzangpo.\n\nThis Shitro Empowerment\, Lung\, and Teaching will be held on Friday afternoon\, 12/4 from 2-6pm at the Benedictine Convent. This event is associated with the following weekend’s teaching on the Prayer of Kungtuzangpo.\n\n \n Benedictine Convent\n800 N.Country Club\nTucson AZ 85716

SUMMARY:The Prayer of Kungtuzangpo
DESCRIPTION:The Prayer of Kungtuzangpo (Tibetan)\, also known as the Primordial Buddha Samantabhadra (Sanskrit) instructs the sincere student about the View\, Meditation and Action of the Nature of Mind and how we stray from this Unchanging Goodness in our day to day lives.\nThis aspirational prayer from the Dzogchen Ati Yoga Tantras comes from Guru Rinpoche\, Padmasmbhava. It is from the 9th chapter of the Gonpa Zangthal or Northern Treasures\, a secret treasure or terma discovered in 1366 by the Great\nAwareness-Holder and terton\, Rigdzin Goden in the cave of Zangzang Lhadrak in Tibet. \n \n Benedictine Convent\n800 N.Country Club\nTucson AZ 85716
