DESCRIPTION:Tara Embodies the female wisdom activity of the mind. She is often called the mother of all the Buddhas\nHis Eminence Garchen Rinpoche has taught extensively on the benefits of White Tara practice. SUMMARY:Introduction to Meditating on Emptiness: Wisdom-Awareness
DESCRIPTION:Weekend Teaching Schedule:(You may attend any or all sessions)\n\nFriday\, 3/19\, 1-5pm\nThe Six Paramitas: Walking the Bodhisattva’s Path to Enlightenment\n \n\nThe 6 paramitas (or perfections) include generosity\, moral ethics\, patience\, perseverance\, meditative concentration\, and wisdom. function as simple\, practical and enlightening guidance on how to live our lives on and off the meditation cushion in a way that purifies disturbing emotions and negative karma into virtuous activity. Lama-la has suggested that we bring our Jewel Ornament of Liberation text to this teaching.\nPlease bring your copies of The Jewel Ornament of Liberation with you. \nFriday\, 3/19\, 7-9pm\nIntroduction to Meditating on Emptiness: Wisdom-Awareness\n \n\nEmptiness meditation is likened to the experience of pouring water into water or stirring butter into butter. When one learns to abide in the inherently natural state of wisdom-awareness the paramitas manifest spontaneously in one’s day to day actions\, like breast milk passing from mother to babe. Lamala will introduce us to emptiness-awareness meditation practice and if we’re lucky – it’s result! \nSaturday\, 3/20\, 9am-12pm\, & 2-5pm\nLight Amassment of Blessings: Guru Yoga Teachings & Group Meditation Practice\n \n\nGuru Yoga is the practice of merging one’s mind with the wisdom mind of the teacher. This very special Guru Yoga sadhana was transmitted by Garchen Rinpoche just a few years ago and written down by Lama Gabe for Rinpoche’s disciples\, after a very persistent student made supplications to him. \nSunday\, 3/21\, 9am-12pm & 2-5pm\nWhite Dzambhala Empowerment: Summoning Good Fortune \nTeachings & Group Meditation Practice \n\nDzambhala Diety is considered a master of longevity\, merit\, nourishment\, riches & fortune. This practice is timely with the difficult economic times world-wide and disasters\, such as in Haiti and Chile. May we practice with the intention that all beings have what they need.\nLocation: All Events\n1871 N. SUMMARY:White Tara Practice
DESCRIPTION:Tara Embodies the female wisdom activity of the mind. She is often called the mother of all the Buddhas\nHis Eminence Garchen Rinpoche has taught extensively on the benefits of White Tara practice. White Tara offers peace\, prosperity\, health and long life through her enlightened activities. She is depicted with a female body is the brilliant white of a thousand autumn moons. Her third eye in her forehead symbolizes her vision of the unity of ultimate reality while she simultaneously sees the relative and dualistic world with her other two eyes. Her hands and feet also have eyes\, showing that all her actions are governed by her ultimate wisdom and compassion. She is the protective\, helpful and comforting mother who shows limitless kindness\, generosity and protection towards those who are tossed in the ocean of suffering.\n\nIf we recite her mantra and make a connection to her\, we draw closer to developing her enlightened qualities in ourselves.\n\nBring your bells and damarus!\n1st & 3rd Wednesdays\, Every Month \nAda Pierce McCormick BuildingUniversity of Arizona Campus1401 East First Street\nTucson\, Arizona 85719(Click here for a map) \nFor More Information: Zehra Conner:

SUMMARY:Achi Practice

Achi is considered chief protectress of the Drikung Kagyu. In Achi meditation practice\, we use visualization and mantra as a means of concentration. The practice lasts approximately an hour and a half\, and consists of opening prayers for dedicating the motivation to benefit all others\, the body of the practice using visualization (contemplation of the mental visual image) and mantra (chanted prayers). The practice concludes with dedication prayers where\, again\, we think of our wish to benefit all other beings.\nThe prayers\, visualization\, and dedication are read from a sadhana (traditional practice text). \nThis particular practice was written by Jigten Sumgon\, our lineageís founder\, and translated in to English by Khenchen Gyaltsen Rinpoche.\nBeginners are welcome at this practice. \n2nd & 4th Wednesdays\, Every Month \nAda Pierce McCormick BuildingUniversity of Arizona Campus1401 East First Street\nTucson\, Arizona 85719(Click here for a map) \nFor More Information: Ann Danowitz:
