SUMMARY:Bardo Teachings with Drupon Thinley Ningpo - Amitabha Empowerment
DESCRIPTION:Our Beloved Drupon Thinley Ningpo \nPlease join us and our beloved teacher\, Drupon Thinley Ningpo\, for this special weekend of Bardo Teachings\, November 22nd and 23rd\, 2025 (10am-12pm + 2pm-5pm MST)\, preceded by an Amitabha empowerment on Friday\, November 21st (6:30pm-8:30pm MST). \nLINK TO ZOOM \nBardo Teaching Text [PDF] \nREGISTER for Bardo Teachings with Drupon Thinley Ningpo \nThe term\, Bardo\, commonly refers to the transitional or “intermediate states” that occur during the period between death and rebirth. The Bardo teachings help us to understand what happens when the mind separates from the body at the time of death\, where it goes\, what to expect\, and how to prepare for the transition. \nIn a broader sense\, Bardo also refers to 6 key transitional experiences\, moments when gaps appear\, not just in the afterlife\, but also in everyday life\, including the bardos of dreaming and meditation. \nDrupon Thinley Ningpo will explore these 6 Bardo states and why it’s crucial to understand them and the opportunities present in each for liberation from samsara and the cycle of suffering. \nLocation + Registration\nThe teachings will be held at Red Tree Meditation & Yoga Center in Tucson and simultaneously broadcast online via Zoom.  We strongly encourage you to attend in person. \nAll are welcome\, no previous experience necessary. \nThe suggested donation for each weekend day is $40\, or whatever amount you can donate to support this and future teachings in the Old Pueblo. Registration is not required\, and can be done on day of teachings\, but pre-registration helps us to estimate total attendance and plan accordingly:\nREGISTER for Bardo Teachings with Drupon Thinley Ningpo

SUMMARY:Green Tara Teachings\, Empowerment and more with Drupon Thinley Ningpo - April 22nd + 23rd
DESCRIPTION:Green Tara Teachings\, Empowerment and more \nWe’re pleased to announce  the return not only of in-person teachings but also of our beloved Drupon Thinley Ningpo to Tucson. SUMMARY:Achi Chokyi Drolma Empowerment and Practice Instruction
DESCRIPTION:Empowerment: Saturday\, March 18\, 10am\nTeaching: Saturday & Sunday\, March 18/19\, 10am-12pm & 2pm-5pm \nDrupon Thinley Ningpo will grant the Achi Chokyi Drolma empowerment and then guide us to a greater understanding of Achi deity practice. Achi\, chief protectress of the Drikung Kagyu and an emanation of Vajrayogini\, is also the great grandmother of Lord Jigten Sumgon\, founder of the Drikung Kagyu Lineage. As such she “liberates the thoughts of beings to suit the dharma.” \nBorn in 11th century Tibet\, from an early age Achi displayed auspicious powers such as teaching mantra to others by the age of three. In essence her manifestation in the human realm embodies the wisdom and compassion of all the Buddhas\, the great mother of the Buddhas (http://www.rigdzindharma.org/achi-chokyi-drolma.html). “According to a prophecy in the Cakrasaṃvara Tantra\, it is said\, “The head of the Karma Dakinis will come to the area of Tidro cave in Drikung. This will be a nirmanakaya manifestation of Vajrayogini” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Achi_Chokyi_Drolma). \nAchi practice is a particular favorite for our sangha. Please join us in paying homage to her for the benefit of all beings\, the Drikung Kagyu lineage and for the benefit of our fledgling dharma center. \nThis particular practice was written by Lord Jigten Sumgon\, and translated into English by Khenchen Gyaltsen Rinpoche. Drupon Thinley Ningpo will explain not only explain the text in particular and how to practice it\, but will also offer commentary on the meaning of empowerment and of deity practice in general. Copies of the practice will be provided. \nTo pre-register for this event\, please click here. \nTeaching Fee: $75 for this weekend\, $35 for Sustaining Members and above.\nFoundational Members may attend for free. \n

SUMMARY:Vajrayogini Empowerment and Teaching
DESCRIPTION:Vajrayogini Empowerment and Teaching\nDrupon Thinley Ningpo Rinpoche\nSaturday\, Oct 25th\, 10am-Noon\, 2-5pm \nDrupon Thinley Ningpo will oer this Vajrayogini Empowerment and Teaching in preparation for the upcoming Tummo Retreat\, but all are welcome. \nVajrayogini is a female Buddha who embodies one’s innermost essence and is associated with the mother tantras of anutaratantra yoga. \nAccording to Tsongkapa\, her practice includes methods for preventing ordinary death\, awareness in the intermediate state or bardo and rebirth by transforming these into paths\, including the transformation of mundane daily activities into the enlightened state of mind. Through Vajrayogini’s mantra we accomplish the activity of the Dakini\, the 2 accumulations\, and the 4 activities.
