White Tara Empowerment & Practice Instruction

May 20, 2006 @ 12:00 am - May 21, 2006 @ 12:00 am

Practiced by all four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism, White Tara has been the main deity practice of many well-known Buddhist scholars and siddhas in both India and Tibet, foremost among whom were Nagarjuna and Atisha.

White TaraĆs special function is to promote long life, both for the practitioner and for others. Ultimately, she is the very nature of the dharmakaya, and her practice is a means for attaining liberation.

This teaching will include an empowerment ceremony on Saturday morning, followed by practice instruction in the afternoon. A full day of practice will occur on Sunday, dedicated to His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche on the anniversary of his 70th birthday, as requested by His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche.
