Mandala Practice: A Hands-on Approach to Ultimate Generosity

August 2, 2008 @ 12:00 am - August 3, 2008 @ 12:00 am

Mandala Practice is part of the Preliminary Practices (Refuge, Vajrasattva, Mandala, Guru Yoga) and focuses on generosity. Mandala practice is a means of developing generosity by cutting through attachment and desire.

In the Mandala Practice, we visualize offering the entire universe to all the Buddhas and Bodhisatvas, the Dharma and the Sangha.

All of the wealth of the universe is symbolized by the rice held in our hands. We visualize the rice as every jewel and precious stone, and offer it (generosity) to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the Dharma and the Sangha.

Drupon Rinpoche will lead a 1 and 1/2 day teaching on the meaning and application of the Mandala, including instruction on its creation.
